Comcast Promotes Kathy Zachem and Melissa Maxfield to Senior Vice President
Comcast Corporation (Nasdaq: CMCSA, CMCSK), one of the nation’s leading providers of entertainment, information and communication products and services, announced today that it has promoted Kathy Zachem and Melissa Maxfield to Senior Vice President. With these promotions, Ms. Zachem becomes Senior Vice President, Regulatory and State Legislative Affairs, and Ms. Maxfield becomes Senior Vice President, Congressional and Federal Government Affairs.

Since joining Comcast in 2008, Ms. Zachem has led Comcast’s advocacy before federal agencies, including the Federal Communications Commission, and state regulatory and legislative bodies. She was previously a founding partner of the law firm Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP, where she practiced communications law for 23 years. Ms. Zachem was named among the "Most Powerful Women in Cable” by CableFax magazine (2010, 2008), and as one of "Washington’s Best” lawyers by Washingtonian Magazine (2007). She received her law degree from the George Mason University School of Law and her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Political Science from The George Washington University.
Ms. Maxfield has spent most of her eight years with Comcast overseeing its congressional lobbying efforts. Prior to joining the company in 2003, she held several senior political positions, including Director, Dedicated Americans for the Senate and the House PAC (DASHPAC), where she was responsible for political outreach on behalf of the Senate Democratic Leader Tom Daschle to Senators and Senate candidates. Before that, she served with the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee as political liaison, and held several senior fundraising positions. Ms. Maxfield was named among the "Top Corporate Lobbyists in Washington” in both 2009 and 2010 by The Hill newspaper. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Randolph Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia.
