Comcast Corp. Announces 18% Gain In Q3 Profit

(RTTNews) - Comcast Corp. (CMCSK) reported a profit for its third quarter that gained ground from last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $2.65 billion, or $0.52 per share. This was up from $2.24 billion, or $0.46 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.50 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 1.6% to $20.98 billion. This was down from $21.32 billion last year.
