'Collaborate to Survive' Says Report from Atos Origin and Leading Analyst Firm on Future of Consumer Products Industry

Collaboration is the key to survival for consumerproducts companies, according to a special report out today from aleading analyst company, commissioned by, IT services company, AtosOrigin (Paris:ATO). Senior level executives of global consumerindustry leaders were interviewed, including Gillette, Heineken, KraftFoods, LMN (Airmiles), Maxxium, Metro, KarstadtQuelle, Philips,Procter & Gamble and Unilever.

After years of transformation in consolidation, globalization andoutsourcing, companies who create, manufacture, distribute and retailconsumer products need to unearth a new way to improve theirbusinesses. This special report, entitled 'Achieving CollaborativeExcellence in the Consumer Products Value Chain', finds that new formsof collaboration between these companies can achieve greater productinnovation and consumer intimacy, leading to competitive advantage forthe future.

It shows collaboration across the value chain, from R&D through tomanufacturing, distribution and information technology, as a path totop-line revenue growth and higher profit margins, and highlights anumber of best practices of collaborative excellence.
