Citylink Deploys Juniper Networks J-Series to Upgrade Premium Managed Services J-Series Services Router Enables Swedish Service Provider to Deliver Assured End-to-End Quality of Service
Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:JNPR) today announced that Citylink, Sweden's fastest growing alternative service provider in the corporate segment, is upgrading its customer premises equipment with the Juniper Networks J-Series Services Router. Working with local channel partner, Imtech Sweden, the upgrade will enable Citylink to deliver premium managed IP services, including voice, video and virtual private networks (VPNs), with assured quality of service (QoS) from the core of the network to the customer premise.
Citylink's core IP/MPLS network was built using Juniper Networks M-Series routing platforms in early 2003, and because the J-Series uses the same modular JUNOS operating system, this deployment will greatly simplify network operations, while improving QoS and performance throughout the entire network. The J-Series also enables Citylink to deliver a full range diverse IP services from a single, cost-effective platform.
"With the J-Series at the customer premises and the M-Series in the core, we now have a single, consistent operating system end-to-end across the entire network, enabling us to deliver the reliable services our customers require cost-effectively," said Ove Ericsson, Citylink's chief executive officer. "We needed to replace the customer premise routing platform provided to our customers, re-aligning its capabilities with the best-in-class performance of our IP network. The Juniper Networks J-Series platform enables us to deliver consistent quality of service, line-rate traffic classification and forwarding -- exactly what our customers require for their businesses."
Citylink serves hundreds of Swedish business customers with LAN to LAN interconnectivity, Internet access and voice services. Companies such as the Swedish brewery Spendrups, the leading risk management consultant DNV (Det Norske Veritas), and a large number of county and local government organizations, depend on Citylink for their voice and datacom services.
"This deployment is about enabling our customer to provide secure and assured networking solutions for its customers," said Eddie Minshull, vice president of operations in EMEA for Juniper Networks. "Citylink's choice highlights the economic and operational benefits of deploying a single, consistent operating system throughout its IP network from the core to the customer."
