Chemtura Names Robert Wedinger as VP & General Manager, Process Chemicals and Polymers

Chemtura Chairman and CEO Robert L Wood made the announcement:"Dr. Wedinger is an accomplished senior executive with two decades ofexperience in technology and business leadership. He has a strongtrack record of global business transformation through strategydevelopment, operational excellence, organizational improvement, andintegration of acquisitions. He has consistently achieved double-digitprofit growth in international divisions of large public and privatecompanies, through a hands-on, customer-focused leadership style."

Dr. Wedinger comes to Chemtura from J.M. Huber Corporation inMaryland, a private diversified manufacturer, where he served as vicepresident and general manager of two major business units: theperformance materials business and the consumer products business.While there, he developed and implemented strategies to significantlyreduce spending, increase sales of new products, and raise assetcapacity utilization, achieving substantial success in each case.

His previous positions include vice president and general managerof pharmaceutical fine chemicals for Honeywell International(AlliedSignal) in New Jersey, where he led a major restructuring, andas director of research and development of fluorine products. He hasserved as global technical director for the food ingredients divisionof FMC Corporation in Pennsylvania; and held positions of increasingresponsibility and complexity in FMC Corporation's lithium division inNorth Carolina.

Dr. Wedinger holds 10 U.S. patents and has three patents pending.He earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and biology from WagnerCollege and a Ph.D. in physical organic chemistry from the StateUniversity of New York at Stony Brook. He was a post-doctoral researchfellow in synthetic organic chemistry at Harvard University.
