CEVA Logistics Delivers F35 Lightning II and Orion Spacecraft to White House Lawn

HOUSTON, TEXAS, USA, 5 September, 2018 - CEVA Logistics managed the move and placement of Lockheed Martin's F35 Lightning II and their Orion Spacecraft on the South Lawn of the White House on Monday, July 23rd, 2018 for exhibition at the Made In America Showcase which featured products from all 50 states. Now in its second year, the Made In America event is intended to celebrate the importance of American manufacturing, construction, agriculture, mining and entrepreneurship to the Nation's prosperity and economic vitality.

Placement of these large crafts on the White House South Lawn was no easy feat as both items were far too large to fit through successive sets of White House security gates. The F35 Lightning II needed to be moved piece by piece onto the White House grounds for initial assembly, then towed into final position on the South Lawn before having the wings and auxiliary items fully installed. Additionally, the Orion Spacecraft, at 15,000 pounds and 15 feet wide, had to be lifted by crane on three separate occasions to get to its final position. "This was probably the most challenging and rewarding project I have been involved with in my 18 years in the exhibition industry," said Daniel Bates, Global Account Manager, CEVA Logistics Showfreight.
