CEO Compensation Showed Moderate Increase In 2016
(RTTNews) - A report issued by Willis Towers Watson (WLTW) showed that total pay for CEOs rose by 6 percent in 2016. This compared to a median 4 percent rise in 2015.
The analysis is based on 365 companies in the S&P 1500 that had consistent CEOs and filed proxies disclosing 2016 pay by the end of March. The total pay figure takes into account base salaries, bonuses and grant-date value of long-term incentives, such as stock options.
Breaking down the figures, Willis Towers Watson said that salaries were up 2 percent in 2016, while bonuses were up 5 percent.
