Celebrating Mother's Day On Skid Row At The Fred Jordan Mission Saturday, May 13

Hundreds of impoverished mothers, women, men, and children will celebrate Mother's Day and enjoy a delicious sit-down Mother's Day Banquet at the Fred Jordan Mission and receive special gifts, toys and family food bags.

Volunteers from throughout Southern California will prepare and serve delicious Baked Chicken Lunches to hundreds of homeless men, women and children.

Hear from Willie Jordan, the only female President of a homeless Mission on Skid Row, and the mother of seven children.  Willie, and her late husband Fred Jordan, brought their seven children to Skid Row every holiday, where they helped serve the less fortunate before having their own holiday celebrations.

Los Angeles is the Homeless Capital of the Nation, and more than 40% of the nation's homeless are mothers with young children, and that number keeps rising. Come see what it's like to be a mother who's been stripped of her dignity and still responsible for young children living on Skid Row and in the inner city.  Hear how your viewers, listeners and readers can make a real difference. 

Each impoverished mother will receive a personalized gift bag and fresh flowers to make sure she feels special and honored.
