Canadian Stocks Set For Early Losses -- Canadian Commentary
(RTTNews) - Canadian stocks may end the week on downbeat note as the Fort McMurray wildfire threatens oil sands production in Alberta.
The inferno has taken as much as a quarter of the country's oil output off line, the Globe and Mail reports.
Meanwhile, the U.S. economy generated only 160,000 new jobs in April, versus market estimates of 203,000 new jobs.
The unemployment rate was unchanged at 5%, according to data from the Labor Department.
Energy stocks will be in focus, as crude oil prices slipped below $44 a barrel despite Canada's supply disruption.
