Cable One Taps Into NextiraOne's IP Telephony Expertise to Upgrade Local Contact Centers

HOUSTON, July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Upgrading an entire contact center infrastructure is a complex challenge that can present significant business risks if not planned and executed properly. Cable One found in NextiraOne an experienced service provider with the expertise required to help mitigate these risks and improve Cable One's value to their customers. Through the effective use of advanced contact center technology, this nationwide digital cable provider continues to aggressively pursue improved customer satisfaction by enhancing the customer experience and providing more reliable support during peak and off-peak hours. Rather than making upgrades to existing contact center technology, Cable One chose to leverage the advantages of IP telephony with a trusted ally.

The scope of the awarded contract includes the implementation of an IP telephony-based contact center at Cable One headquarters and at its remote sites across the country. The installed IP telephony systems are powered exclusively by Nortel equipment. The contract also included full technical support and a five-year service agreement.

"Most of our sites are in smaller, rural regions, and that's where NextiraOne really benefits us. With their experience and expertise in contact center technologies they were able to provide us with a solution that delivers advanced capabilities to all of our associates no matter where they are," said Stephen A. Fox, Cable One's vice president of digital services and technology. "Suddenly, we're bringing call tracking and advanced contact center capabilities to offices that never experienced them before. That means our contact center agents have quicker access to better information and our customers feel connected, whether during on-peak or off-peak hours."

Cable One had many providers interested in addressing their IP telephony needs. NextiraOne became the natural choice by bringing substantial voice, data and convergence expertise to the equation and making the transition to the new technology swift and smooth. Cutover time spent transferring to IP has been measured in minutes, not hours. This is due, in large part, to NextiraOne's nationwide commitment to reliable and practiced implementation methodologies as well as comprehensive training and support. Cable One and NextiraOne are on schedule and have completed approximately 60 percent of the implementation plan. The two companies are working closely to ensure the remaining sites are brought online by mid-2006.

"IP telephony allows a company like Cable One to maintain its close-knit connection with its local customers, while also offering the flexibility, reliability and security of a larger contact center environment," said NextiraOne CEO Dale Booth. "Now the customer experience will be more streamlined, efficient and responsive."
