Burger King Renews Nuggets Price War With McDonald's

(RTTNews) - Burger King's lip-smacking 10-piece chicken nuggets are back on popular demand at just $1.49 and for a limited time only as the fast-food chain is up in a renewed price war with rival McDonald's Corp (MCD).

Burger King's chicken nuggets cost 15 cents each, or half of what it costs usually, and also cheaper than McDonald's which prices its 50 McNuggets for $9.99, or 20 cents each.

The fast food hamburger chain had introduced the delicious 10-piece chicken nuggets for $1.49 in October last year and ended the promotion in a month amid strong demand.

Burger King said consumer demand for the revived nugget offer was impressive and that it sold out earlier than expected.

The price war for the delicious nugget comes amid high beef prices, and fast food chains see chicken as an alternative menu item to attract traffic to their outlets.

That would be most welcome for consumers, who after an expensive holiday shopping, can gorge on one of their favorite food item without much strain on their purse.
