"We introduced numerous product and service innovations under multiple brands at this year's GIE+EXPO," says Todd Teske, chairman, president & CEO of Briggs & Stratton. "The excitement from our customers about these user-driven innovations has been outstanding, especially our InfoHub™ technology for commercial cutters."

The number one innovation that Briggs & Stratton launched is InfoHub for commercial turf, a new Internet of Things, web-based business solution that gives landscape owners and managers the intelligence they need to be smarter about scheduling jobs, preparing bids and even deploying crews and equipment. With less time and less effort, InfoHub for commercial turf helps cutters make more money through features such as real-time crew and equipment tracking, route optimization, profitability and efficiency analysis and because InfoHub by Briggs & Stratton is brand agnostic, it can be used on any piece of equipment with a battery and a spark plug. Commercial cutters were enthusiastic about this new technology and saw value in its ability to help them tackle their biggest day-to-day pain points in a single web-based program. Power equipment dealers saw InfoHub as a game-changing tool that they can use to grow their relationships with commercial cutters. For more information, visit www.BriggsInfoHub.com.

Other innovations on display for commercial cutting and landscaping customers included select Ferris mowers featuring the Vanguard Oil Guardsystem, which allows for 500 hours between oil changes and up to a 60 percent annual cost savings1. The Oil Guard system received rave reviews from commercial cutters who used the system last season and tremendous interest from those who haven't yet had the opportunity to use it. The new Billy Goat 37 gross HP2, 993 cc debris loader with a Vanguard EFI engine, offering easier starting and fuel saving of up to 25 percent over carbureted equivalents3, saw strong interest as well. The new Ferris 400S, IS® 600Z and SRS Z3X zero turn mowers were well received, as they allow commercial cutters to reach new levels of productivity. At the show, Ferris was awarded a Gold Level Award by the Equipment Dealers Association (EDA). This award is presented to manufacturers with excellent overall ratings from their dealers, as collected through an annual survey.

Power equipment dealers, who sell to residential homeowners, were thrilled to see so many new residential products under the Briggs & Stratton, Snapper and Simplicity brands. One highlight was the category-changing Briggs & Stratton Q6500 QuietPowerSeries Inverter Generator4, which addresses several top unmet needs of generator shoppers. It's more than 60 percent quieter5, 30 percent lighter and 45 percent more compact6 than standard portable generators. Dealers were impressed with the price-point and the fact that they couldn't hear the generator running. They were excited to know that there is a quieter back-up power option for their customers.

Multiple space-saving outdoor power equipment options from Briggs & Stratton were showcased, such as the new Briggs & Stratton 2000 PSI electric pressure washers, with a collapsible handle design for easy storage in tight garage spaces or on shelving. Dealers appreciated the space-saving design and the steel frame that is more durable than the plastic frames traditionally used on electric pressure washers.

Another highlight for these dealers was the 12 additional tools added to the Snapper XD 82-Volt7 multi tool system powered by a Briggs & Stratton battery. New Snapper XD tools included items such as additional walk behind mowers, string trimmer attachments and a cultivator. Dealers valued having more tools in the system to offer to their customers. They were especially interested in the unique self-propelled utility cart.

"We are encouraged by the positive response from commercial cutters and outdoor power equipment dealers alike," added Teske. "We're committed to offering user-driven innovations that help our lawn care customers and dealers grow their businesses."
