Bottomline Technologies Q4 Loss Widens

(RTTNews) - Bottomline Technologies Inc. (EPAY) Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net loss of $3.8 million or $0.11 per share, compared to net loss of $1.2 million or $0.03 per share last year.

Core earnings, which exclude special items, increased to $0.32 per share from $0.26 per share a year ago. On average, nine analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.29 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues for the fourth quarter grew 6 percent to $65.0 million from 61.4 million last year. Analysts estimated revenues of $65.04 million for the quarter.

Separately, Bottomline Technologies said it has completed the acquisition of Swiss-based Sterci SA and has agreed to purchase London-based Simplex GTP Ltd.

The acquisition of Simplex, subject to certain shareholder approvals and other customary closing conditions, is expected to close next month. Financial terms of the two transactions will be provided on Bottomline's fourth quarter earnings call later today.
