BMC Software Q1 Profit Down - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - BMC Software Inc. (BMC) Monday reported first-quarter net earnings of $52.5 million or $0.36 per share, compared to $54.1 million or $0.33 per share a year ago.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter rose to $111.5 million or $0.77 per share from $105.9 million or $0.65 per share in the year-ago period. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.79 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
