Bemis Q1 Profit Up, Despite Lower Sales - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Bemis Company, Inc. (BMS) announced Thursday an increase in first quarter net income to $54.4 million or $0.55 per share from $49.2 million or $0.48 per share last year.

On average, 13 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.58 per share. Analysts estimates usually exclude special items.

Net sales declined to $1.04 billion from $1.10 billion in the prior year. Analysts were looking for $1.04 billion.

Looking ahead to 2015, the company continues to expect adjusted earnings per share in a range of $2.52 - $2.67, while Street estimates is for $2.57 per share.
