(RTTNews) - Social software company Bazaarvoice, Inc. (BV) reported second-quarter net loss of $14.2 million, or $0.19 per share, wider than $11.2 million, or $0.l6 per share in the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, non-GAAP net loss for the quarter narrowed to $4.8 million, or $0.06 per share from $4.9 million, or $0.07 per share in the comparable quarter last year. On average, six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to lose $0.07 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Meanwhile, revenue for the latest second quarter rose 17.9% to $45.54 million, from $38.63 million a year ago, while five analysts expected to see revenues of $44.95 million in the latest second quarter.
