Baxalta Announces Shareholder Approval For Merger Deal With Shire - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Baxalta Inc. (BXLT) announced its shareholders approved the definitive merger agreement with Shire plc (SHPG, SHP.L), dated as of January 11, 2016, and the merger transaction, with approximately 98.9 percent of shares outstanding cast in favor of the proposal. Earlier, Shire shareholders of approximately 93.8 percent of the votes cast voted in favor of the adoption of the merger agreement with Baxalta.

The completion of the transaction remains subject to certain other closing conditions, but the companies expect the deal will be completed on or about June 3, 2016.
