Barrick Gold Reportedly Hires Bank To Sell Montana Mine

(RTTNews) - Barrick Gold Corp. (ABX.TO, ABX) is looking to sell its Golden Sunlight mine in Montana, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter continuing a two-year-long drive to shed noncore assets.

The Toronto-based gold miner has hired Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce to help sell the mine in Jefferson County, southwestern Montana, the Journal quoted one of those people as saying.

The open-pit mine is one of Barrick's smallest properties, producing 92,000 ounces of gold in 2013, according to the company's website.

Barrick, which is the world's largest gold miner, is trying to shed noncore assets to pay back debts.
