Ball Corporation Bottom Line Advances 22% In Q2

(RTTNews) - Ball Corporation (BLL) revealed earnings for its second quarter that gained ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $152 million, or $1.05 per share. This was up from $125 million, or $0.89 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.99 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 6.5% to $2.03 billion. This was down from $2.17 billion last year.
