Ball Corp. Nears Deal To Buy Rexam : Report
(RTTNews) - Ball Corp. (BLL) is nearing a deal to buy beverage can maker Rexam Plc. (REX.L, REXMY.PK), the Wall street Journal reported citing people familiar with the matter.
Ball's acquisition of Rexam could be announced as early as this week, the report said.
Earlier this month, the companies confirmed that they were in buyout talks, which may or may not lead to a formal offer being made for Rexam. The proposal valued Rexam at 610 pence per each Rexam share based on a consideration of about two thirds in cash and one third in new Ball shares.
