Balder Acquires 21 Percent of Sato

Balder (STO:BALDB) has agreed to acquire 21 percent of Sato. Sato is a Finnish real estate company focused on ownership and residential development. Sato owns about 25,000 rental homes at a value of EURM 2,500. About 80 percent of the residential portfolio is located in Helsinki metropolitan area and the remaining part in developing communities.

Balder made its first acquisition in Finland in 2014. That we can now step into Helsinki by becoming a partner in Sato, a company that on the residential side has the same strategy as ourselves, is very suitable. Balder acquires the shares for nearly MSEK 1,670.

"Sato has been a very successful company for a long time and the demand for housing remains very strong in the Finnish growth areas, allowing for the continued development," CEO Erik Selin.
