Axiall Profit Falls On Lower Sales, Misses Estimate

(RTTNews) - Axiall Corp (AXLL), a maker of chemicals and building products, Tuesday reported second-quarter net earnings of $27.2 million or $0.38 per share, compared with $72.8 million or $1.03 per share last year.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $0.48 per share, compared with $1.19 per share a year ago.

Revenue for the quarter was $1.24 billion, compared with $1.27 billion in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters projected earnings of $0.51 per share on revenue of $1.14 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
