Award-Winning Intervoice Customer to Discuss Deployment Success in Joint Presentation at Speech Technology Conference American Savings Bank to Present at SpeechTEK West on Migration from Touchtone to Speech Automation

American Savings Bank, the first financial institution in Hawaii to deploy speech recognition technology, was recently recognized by InfoWorld Magazine for implementing one of the 100 most innovative technology projects for 2004. The InfoWorld 100 annual awards honor the most creative and cutting-edge implementations of enterprise technology.
On Tuesday, February 22 from 10:20 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. PST, the session entitled, "Achieving Excellence: How the Best Call Centers Use Speech Technology," will focus on successful speech technology deployments in which contributors Ron Owens of Intervoice and Intervoice customer, American Savings Bank, will jointly participate. As the Vice President of Professional Services for Intervoice, Owens is a well-respected expert in the telecommunications and banking industries, and has been an invited speaker on advanced speech recognition applications at numerous industry events. Renee Lum, AVP/Manager of American Savings Bank's Customer Service Center, will speak to their award-winning telebanking application from Intervoice that uses a local female voice talent that greets callers with a regional dialect and salutations such as 'Aloha' and 'Mahalo' in order to project a local image. Lum's presentation will cover the perils and processes of migrating from touchtone to speech as well as the best practices toward designing, implementing, and optimizing voice applications.
Additionally, Owens will moderate a financial services industry forum on Tuesday afternoon, February 22, from 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. PST. The panel discussion will explore specific speech applications for the financial industry sector.
Intervoice will showcase its speech recognition capabilities, in addition to its InVision(R) Studio for VoiceXML standards-based development environment, at the SpeechTEK West Conference and Expo at booth #414. Exhibit hours are from 9:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22 and from 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23. The Service Automation EXPO (SAXPO) 2005 is co-located with SpeechTEK and Intervoice will be present at Kiosk A2.
