AutoNation Q3 Profit Up, But Misses Estimates -Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - AutoNation, Inc. ( AN), Thursday reported an increase in the third-quarter net income, that included higher revenues from across all its segments. However, earnings per share missed the Street estimates.

For the three-month period, the company reported net income of $92.6 million or $0.75 per share, compared with $81.6 million or $0.66 per share last year.

On average, twelve analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings per share of $0.77 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Total revenues for the period increased to $4.4 billion, from $3.93 billion a year ago. Analysts expected the company to generate revenues of $4.44 billion for the quarter.
