Arrow Electronics Names Mike Long President, North America; Paul Reill

MELVILLE, N.Y., May 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Arrow Electronics, Inc. today announced two changes to its leadership. Effective immediately, Mike Long, president, North American Computer Products, has been named president, North America, with responsibilities for both North American Computer Products and North American Components. Brian McNally will retain his position as president, North American Components, and will now report directly to Mr. Long.

"Mike and his team have led the computer products business to 15 consecutive quarters of profitable growth in a very lean and competitive environment," said Bill Mitchell, president and chief executive officer, Arrow Electronics. "Mike has grown the business to $2.2 billion and has demonstrated outstanding leadership in his identification of new markets and his execution of the business strategy. I am confident that his combined understanding of our components business and his strong operating track record will quickly benefit North American Components as it moves toward greater levels of sales and profitability."

Arrow also announced that Paul Reilly, chief financial officer, has been named a senior vice president of the corporation. "Paul has done an outstanding job in leading our finance teams, and in driving the complex and highly important execution of the Sarbanes-Oxley process throughout the company," Mitchell said.

Mr. Long holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin, and studied electrical engineering at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. During his career, Mr. Long led both Capstone Electronics -- an Arrow company -- and Gates/Arrow Distributing as president. He was named president and chief operating officer of Arrow North American Computer Products in 1998.

Mr. Reilly joined Arrow in 1991 as director of reporting, and shortly thereafter was named assistant controller. In 1996, Mr. Reilly became a corporate vice president and then vice president of finance in 1999. In 2001, he was named chief financial officer. Prior to joining Arrow, Mr. Reilly was a certified public accountant in the business assurance practice of the New York office of KPMG Peat Marwick.
