Arrow Electronics and FatWire Software Announce Strategic Distribution

Arrow Electronics and FatWire Software Announce Strategic Distribution Partnership for Content Management Solutions

    Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. & MINEOLA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 20, 2005--The North American Computer Products group of Arrow Electronics Inc. (NYSE:ARW) and FatWire Software, a leading provider of content management solutions for deploying Web sites and content-centric applications, today announced a new strategic distribution alliance to offer comprehensive content management systems to Arrow enterprise solution providers.
This new partnership provides Arrow's 1,500 partners with a robust content management solution by combining portal and content management capabilities. The agreement covers FatWire's Content Server solution, which is used by mid to large-sized enterprises to deploy Web applications, as well as FatWire's Spark portal content management solution. Arrow currently offers portal products from Sun Microsystems and BEA. FatWire has long-standing partnerships with both Sun and BEA, allowing Arrow to offer richer portal solutions that accelerate user adoption and ROI for portal initiatives.
"This new partnership is a synergistic offering to assist our partners to deploy robust content-centric applications on behalf of their end users," said Kevin Powell, vice president, Enterprise Software, Arrow Electronics. "Our resellers are now able to deliver more business value to support the front-office operations of their customers."
"We're very excited to be working with Arrow and its network of reseller partners. This agreement paves the way for FatWire to expand its distribution reach by offering content management solutions through the channel," said Ken Delaney, vice president, North American Channels, FatWire Software. "When it comes to competing online, mid-sized enterprises have similar needs as larger organizations, and this partnership will allow us to satisfy this growing market demand."
Arrow reseller partners now have access to FatWire's flagship product, Content Server, which combines content management platform with the three key capabilities that are needed for deploying dynamic, persuasive content-centric applications:

-- Transparent content management -- Business people create and manage content with the tools and processes they already know and use everyday. There is no need to learn new tools or change how they work.

-- Persuasive targeted marketing -- Marketing people can easily define the rules for who should see what content under what conditions, using wizard-driven interfaces. This results in end user experiences that persuade audiences to take actions that support a company's business goals.

-- Scalable, dynamic content delivery -- Allows companies to manage large numbers of sites and applications, and reuse content, business logic, and design elements across these sites, while scaling for high performance.

Today's announcement will benefit Arrow's reseller partners such as AvcomEast. "As a provider of Enterprise Applications Solutions, AvcomEast selects only best-in-class partners when designing optimum solutions to meet our customers' business goals," said Rob Wolfe, president and CEO, AvcomEast. "Arrow's new partnership with FatWire Software allows AvcomEast to provide our customers with powerful business applications that aggregate content from their own systems and repositories, and deliver it on the Web."
