Arizona American Water Provides Tips to Help Improve Meter Reading Access and Accuracy

Arizona American Water is reminding customers to keep their utility easements clear of obstructions to help improve meter reading and accuracy.

"While we work to keep your meters clean and clear, it is also important to have unobstructed access to and across properties for needed repairs, replacements and normal maintenance,” said Troy Day, Vice President of Operations. "Installing and maintaining facilities such as water lines, meters, valves and fire hydrants are necessary parts of providing customers with clean, reliable drinking water.”

Obstructions placed over or through Arizona American Water utility easements make it difficult or impossible to access underground water service facilities. Improperly placed obstructions by customers do more than cause delays; they add to customer costs if removal is necessary. Keeping pets away from easements will also help ensure safe access for meter reading and detecting leaks.

With these simple reminders, Arizona American Water remains devoted to the health and safety of local communities.
