Aquila, Inc. Names Christopher M. Reitz As Interim General Counsel And Corporate Secretary

    KANSAS CITY, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 15, 2005--Christopher M. Reitz has been named interim general counsel and corporate secretary by Richard C. Green, chairman and chief executive officer of Aquila, Inc. (NYSE:ILA).
    Reitz currently is assistant general counsel and assistant secretary for Aquila. He succeeds Leslie J. Parrette, Jr., who will be leaving in early March to join another firm.
    Reitz joined Aquila in 2000 as senior corporate counsel. He has prior legal experience with Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin LLP, Sprint and Cerner Corporation.
    He has a bachelor's degree in business and accounting from the University of Kansas and received a juris doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law, where he graduated Order of the Coif. In addition, he is a certified public accountant.
    Reitz was in the Kansas City Business Journal's recent "Best of the Bar" listing of the area's top lawyers and also is included in "Who's Who in Executives and Professionals."

    Based in Kansas City, Mo., Aquila operates electricity and natural gas distribution utilities serving 1.3 million customers in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri and Nebraska.
