Anthem, Inc. Bottom Line Climbs 8% In Q3

(RTTNews) - Anthem, Inc. (ANTM) revealed earnings for its third quarter that advanced compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $707.6 million, or $2.65 per share. This was up from $656.8 million, or $2.45 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $2.42 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 4.8% to $22.43 billion. This was up from $21.40 billion last year.
