Anteon Awarded $47.6M Contract by U.S. Navy to Support Innovative Litt

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 2005--Anteon International Corporation (NYSE:ANT), a leading information technology and systems engineering and integration company, today announced that it has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy to provide acquisition and engineering services support to the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Program. The estimated value of this contract, if all options are exercised, is $47.6 million over five years. Anteon has supported the LCS Program since its inception in October of 2000.
"The award of the LCS contract affords Anteon the distinction of supporting every major ongoing shipbuilding program in the Navy and Coast Guard today," stated Dan Johnson, Anteon chief operating officer. The LCS Program is building an entirely new breed of U.S. Navy warship. The ships are fast, agile, and networked surface combatants and will possess multiple capabilities to detect diesel submarines and underwater mines, as well as countering high speed patrol boats in shallow waters. LCS is a modular, focused-mission program, designing and providing Combatant Commanders the required war-fighting and operational capabilities. The LCS Program includes innovations such as focused-mission packages that deploy manned and unmanned vehicles to execute missions as assigned by Combatant Commanders.
Anteon will provide support to the LCS Program acquisition plan in a variety of areas including program management and acquisition, cost analysis, business and financial management, earned value management, risk management, production planning and engineering. Anteon offers LCS high-level support in test and evaluation, life cycle engineering and support, warfare systems development, Mission Module development and Mission Package Computing Environment support.
