AMSC Q4 Loss Narrows - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - AMSC (AMSC) reported that its net loss for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2014 narrowed to $3.4 million, or $0.36 per share, from $22.7 million, or $3.30 per share, for the same period of fiscal 2013.

The Company's non-GAAP net loss for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2014 was $6.4 million, or $0.69 per share, compared with a non-GAAP net loss of $9.4 million, or $1.36 per share, in the same period of fiscal 2013.

Revenues for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2014 were $25.1 million, compared with $16.3 million for the same period of fiscal 2013. The year over year increase in revenues was due to higher Wind segment revenues in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2014.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.71 per share and revenues of $24.62 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

For the first quarter ending June 30, 2015, AMSC expects that its revenues will be in the range of $22 million to $24 million. The Company's net loss for the first quarter of fiscal 2015 is expected to be less than $9.0 million, or $0.74 per share. AMSC expects that its non-GAAP net loss for the first quarter of fiscal 2015 will be less than $8.5 million, or $0.70 per share. Analysts expect the company to report a loss of $0.63 per share and revenues of $23.59 million for the first-quarter.
