Ameriprise Financial Profit Tops Estimate, Revenue Misses

(RTTNews) - Ameriprise Financial Inc (AMP) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $425 million or $2.23 per share compared with $296 million or $1.47 per share last year.

Excluding items, operating earnings for the quarter were $2.30 per share compared with $1.87 per share a year ago.

Revenues for the quarter were up 5% at $3.01 billion compared with $2.95 billion in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $2.22 per share on revenues of $3.06 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total assets under management and administration grew 5 percent from a year ago to $806 billion, the company said.
