American Financial Group Q4 Profit Rises 11%

(RTTNews) - American Financial Group (AFG) released earnings for its fourth quarter that rose from last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $136 million, or $1.52 per share. This was up from $122 million, or $1.35 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.58 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 5.2% to $1.62 billion. This was up from $1.54 billion last year.
