Alcatel-Lucent Q2 Loss Widens - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - French telecom-equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent SA (ALU) reported a significantly wider net loss (group share) of 885 million euros, or 0.39 euros per share in the second quarter of 2013, including the negative after tax impact from Purchase Price Allocation entries of 14 million euros; compared with last year's loss of 396 million euros, or 0.17 euros per share. In US dollar currency, loss per share widened to $0.51 per ADS, from $0.22 per ADS loss a year ago.

Second-quarter 2013 adjusted net loss (group share) was 871 million euros or 0.38 euros per share, or $0.50 per ADS loss, which includes restructuring charges, an impairment of assets charge, a post-retirement benefit plan amendment gain, a net financial loss of 180 million euros, an adjusted tax charge, and non-controlling interest charge of 2 million euros.

The firm clocked revenues of 3.61 billion euros in the quarter, a 1.9% increase from the prior year's 3.55 billion euros, and up 3.7% year-over-year at constant currency.
