Alcatel-Lucent Posts Q3 Net Loss (Group Share) Of €18 Mln - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - French telecom equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent SA (ALU) said it has incurred net loss (Group share) of 18 million euros, or 0.01 euros per share in the third quarter 2014, on a reported basis. In addition to operating income improvement, this is mainly explained by lower restructuring costs, a decrease in financial expenses compared to the year-ago quarter and post-retirement benefit plan amendments totaling 103 million euros.

Adjusted net loss (Group share) for the period narrowed significantly to 9 million euros, or breakeven per share, from last year's loss of 186 million euros, or 0.08 euros per share.

Quarterly revenues were down by 5.9% year-over-year to 3.25 billion euros from 3.5 billion euros. Revenues for the Group excluding Managed Services, reflecting the termination or restructuring of loss-making contracts, declined 3.8% year-on-year, the company said.

Adjusted operating income stood at 170 million euros in the quarter, or 5.2% of revenues, compared with last year's 113 million euros, or 3.2% of revenues.
