Alcatel Chooses Bowne Global Solutions: A Worldwide Project to Streamline All Multilingual Technical Documentation

NEW YORK, June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Alcatel has just awarded Bowne Global Solutions (BGS), specialists in global solutions and multilingual document management, the task of streamlining multilingual technical documents for worldwide use.

In this multi-year project known as "OneDoc," BGS will simplify all of Alcatel's existing documentation by making improvements to the English source of the documents. BGS, with its global capabilities, will establish teams to work with Alcatel in each country covered by the project.

The objective of the "OneDoc" project is threefold: - reduce Alcatel's production costs of technical documentation, - establish a document database, which will bring together Alcatel's documentation in one central location, - modernize processes, formats (moving towards XML) and document tools.
