Active Power Appoints Karl Schuetze Vice President of Engineering
Active Power, Inc. (NASDAQ:ACPW), inventor and manufacturer of the most
reliable and energy-efficient critical power systems in the world, today
announced the appointment of Dr. Karl Schuetze as vice president of
Engineering. Bringing more than 15 years of engineering industry
expertise to the position, Schuetze will head up the team of engineers
and developers in the company’s continued
design and development of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.
"This is a well deserved promotion for Karl,
who has been at the forefront of the design, development and testing for
many of the critical components that make up our systems,”
said Jim Clishem, president and CEO of Active Power. "We
were in search of an engineering leader who was highly respected in the
field, technically excellent and flexible enough to migrate from Active
Power’s needs today to its needs of the
future. Karl certainly fits this bill.”
Schuetze has spent seven years at Active Power as lead development
engineer and manager of the Mechanical Systems Group. Prior to joining
Active Power, Schuetze held engineering and project lead roles at a
variety of companies including Advanced System Integration, Inc.,
McDonnell Douglas Corp., and General Dynamics, Corp. He also served as
an officer in the U.S. Army Reserves. Schuetze earned his doctorate in
Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and a
master’s and bachelor’s
degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at
Arlington and Virginia Tech respectively.
"I look forward to continuing work with our
talented and experienced engineering team in designing, testing and
deploying innovative backup power systems,”
said Karl Schuetze, vice president of Engineering for Active Power. "It’s
gratifying to know our systems work behind the scenes for our customers,
providing mission critical backup power whether it’s
ensuring hospitals can perform MRI scans on patients with no power
interruption or helping safely land aircraft at night at some of the
busiest international airports in the world.” About Active Power
