Accenture Opens New Technology Delivery Center in Pune, India, for Software Outsourcing and Systems Integration Services -- New facility is Accenture's ninth delivery center in India --

The new delivery center will provide application outsourcing andsystems integration services across the full range of technologycapabilities. The center will develop capabilities in enterprisetechnologies such as SAP and Siebel; Net-centric technologies likeJava and Microsoft; business intelligence and testing.

Accenture plans to hire technology graduates and IT professionalswith skills in these areas for its center. By August, the facilitywill have a capacity of 1600 seats.

The Pune delivery center is Accenture's fifth city presence inIndia, joining others in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai,which together serve more than 200 Accenture clients. Through itsGlobal Delivery Network, Accenture has grown its headcount in Indiasignificantly over the past three years, from fewer than 4,000 in 2003to more than 17,500.
