15-Year Old From Needham, MA. Uses Her Love For Golf To Shine A Light On Critically Ill Children And Their Families

BOSTON, June 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --

WHAT: 15-year-old Rebecca Skoler, of Needham, MA, has partnered with the nonprofit Leadership Links to connect her passion, golfing, with her love of philanthropy. Rebecca participates in a unique educational opportunity in Florida, where she is able to excel at golf while completing her high school coursework. With the help of Leadership Links, for every birdie that Rebecca makes in tournaments this season, donors can pledge to give a certain amount to The B Fund, a nonprofit that empowers participants to use their time, talents and treasures to provide financial and emotional support to local-area families caring for critically ill children.

When asked about her involvement, Rebecca said, "I wanted another way to give back and contribute to The B Fund while incorporating something that I love to do. This way, I can use my love for golf to motivate myself and inspire others to give back and support me in my efforts to raise money for The B Fund."

Since The B Fund's founding in 2014, Rebecca has been instrumental in helping to engage over 7,100 individuals in activities to raise the necessary funds to provide financial and emotional support to over 2,500 local area families caring for critically ill children. "My favorite part of working with The B Fund is watching our actions and activities inspire others," Rebecca said, "I also enjoy watching a group of people with all different ages, personalities, and ideas come together with a single mission of changing the world."

WHEN: From now until the end of August, donors can make pledges for every birdie that Rebecca makes.
