ARMSTRONG, Iowa, Aug. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Art's Way Manufacturing Co., Inc. (NASDAQ: ARTW), announces its wholly-owned subsidiary, Art's Way Scientific, Inc. (www.buildingsforscience.com), has been awarded a contract from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for a Swine Calorimeter Unit. The contract is valued at approximately $254,000.

Dan Palmer, President of Art's Way Scientific said, "The building is our uniquely designed and constructed Hog Care™ swine unit that consists of 4 self-contained calorimeter testing chambers and associated equipment for housing swine. Calorimeter testing is used for measuring either the heat produced or heat transferred from an animal to determine allocation of feed. Our scope is to build the rooms that hold the swine, which includes the swine flooring systems, feeding and watering equipment, building ventilation, and our cleanable surface.   The university will equip the building with heating /cooling units, controls and monitoring equipment for each of the 4 chambers, which is critical to the testing environment, they require.
