Walgreens June Comparable Stores Sales Rise 7.5% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Walgreens (WAG) reported that its comparable stores sales for the month of June 2014 increased by 7.5 percent. Calendar day shifts positively impacted total comparable sales by 1.7 percentage points. Generic drug introductions in the last 12 months negatively impacted total comparable sales by 0.9 percentage point.

Monthly sales were $6.28 billion, an increase of 8.9 percent from $5.77 billion for the same month last year.

Total front-end sales for the month increased 1.8 percent compared with the same month in fiscal 2013, while comparable store front-end sales increased 1.3 percent. Customer traffic in comparable stores decreased 2.0 percent while basket size increased 3.3 percent.
