Walgreens Acquires the Rights to Theragran-M Multivitamins
DEERFIELD, Ill., Sept. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Walgreens, the nation's largest drugstore chain, today announced it has acquired from Bristol-Myers Squibb the rights to the brand name Theragran-M(R) in the United States. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Theragran-M Advanced formula will return exclusively to Walgreens stores in mid-October. The multivitamin was one of the most widely used supplements and one of Walgreens best selling brands.
"Over the last 50 years, Theragran multivitamins have earned significant customer trust and loyalty worldwide," said Walgreen category manager Robert Bobber, RPh. "We are pleased to have the opportunity to continue offering customers this high quality brand at an even greater value. The brand's strong heritage and reputation for promoting proper nutrition make it an excellent fit for Walgreens."
Walgreen Co. is the nation's largest drugstore chain with fiscal 2005 sales of $42.2 billion. The company operates 4,953 stores in 45 states and Puerto Rico. Walgreens also provides additional services to pharmacy patients and prescription drug and medical plans through Walgreens Health Initiatives (a pharmacy benefits manager), Walgreens Mail Service, Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy and Walgreens Home Care.
