VMware Inc. Reports 12% Advance In Q3 Earnings

(RTTNews) - VMware Inc. (VMW) revealed earnings for its third quarter that gained ground from last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $485 million, or $1.14 per share. This was higher than $433 million, or $1.02 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.10 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 6.6% to $1.78 billion. This was up from $1.67 billion last year.
