United States Department of Justice, Office of the U.S. Trustee, Awards Kroll Contract to Audit Individual Bankruptcy Filings
Kroll, the world’s leading risk consulting
firm, announced today that the Office of the U.S. Trustee of the
Department of Justice has awarded Kroll’s
Government Services division a contract to provide random and targeted
audits of bankruptcy filings. The two-year agreement has a total
estimated value of $1,700,000.
This relatively new program seeks to ensure that individuals filing for
bankruptcy have properly and accurately disclosed their assets. The
project utilizes Kroll expertise in forensic accounting and asset
tracking.
"Kroll participated in the pilot which was the
basis for this program. It is gratifying to be selected to support it on
an on-going basis,” said Jeff Schlanger,
president, Kroll Government Services.
Kroll was one of two companies selected to provide debtor audit services
for the following states: Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New
Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont, District of Columbia,
Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia,
and West Virginia, Michigan and Ohio.
Kroll Government Services is also currently working on substantial
background investigation contracts for the Department of Homeland
Security’s Transportation Security
Administration, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Customs &
Border Protection, as well as the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
