Top Universities Selected in Aviation Week Network's 2017 Workforce Study

NEW YORK, Sept. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Aviation Week Network has released the universities chosen by aerospace and defense (A&D) corporations and universities as preferred suppliers and top providers of graduates for hiring within the global aerospace and defense industry.  Aviation Week collaborated with the Aerospace Industries Association, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and PwC on the 2017 study.

Aviation Week's annual Workforce Study, the industry's official report and a mainstay for A&D planning and trend analysis since 1997, identifies trends in technological challenges, leadership, demographics and compensation, and ranks the top universities for A&D recruitment.

The universities identified as preferred suppliers are based on their ability to recruit students on campus who are both well-prepared academically and in programs that have a record for quality research and alumni who have established a record of success in A&D. They include Georgia Institute of Technology, Purdue University, Virginia Tech, San Diego State, University of Colorado, Cornell University, and Pennsylvania State University.

The universities where A&D corporations have hired the largest number of new graduates were University of Central Florida, University of Florida, and Georgia Institute of Technology.

"Aviation Week Network has worked with A&D corporations and universities from around the world for over ten years to develop initiatives designed to attract, develop and retain the best and brightest university talent," says Greg Hamilton, Aviation Week Network president.  "These universities continue to work with the aerospace and defense industry to attract and educate the people who will lead the industry in the future."
