Senior Leaders Assume New Posts at the Wrigley Company
CHICAGO, July 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Three senior leaders at the Wrigley Company have assumed new posts effective immediately. John Adams is now heading up Wrigley's worldwide manufacturing operations; Patrick Mitchell directs all global procurement activities for the Company; and Donagh Herlihy will lead People Learning and Development, as well as continue in his role as Chief Information Officer. All positions will report directly to Wrigley's Senior Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer, Dushan Petrovich.
John Adams has been promoted to the position of Vice President - Worldwide Manufacturing, with overall responsibility for all of Wrigley's gum, candy and ingredient production facilities and personnel. He joined the Wrigley Company in 1999 as Senior Director Supply Chain - Europe. In January 2005, he was named Vice President Manufacturing - International.
Prior to joining Wrigley, Adams had extensive experience with consumer goods companies in both engineering and supply chain roles. He came to Wrigley from Diageo PLC, where he was Senior Vice President - North American Operations. Previously, he held a variety of positions with Kraft, including Vice President and Director - Engineering.
Pat Mitchell has assumed the new role of Vice President & Chief Procurement Officer. In this position, he and his team will continue to provide seamless support in the areas of strategic sourcing of materials, negotiation excellence, and supplier management programs for the Supply Chain organization. Additionally, they will extend their expert services, their sourcing and negotiating skills across the entire Wrigley organization.
Mitchell joined the Wrigley Company in 2002 as Vice President - Procurement, becoming Vice President - Global Procurement in 2004. He arrived at Wrigley following a long career at Kellogg and Keebler across a wide range of finance, manufacturing and purchasing roles.
"Given their past consumer goods experience and strong records of accomplishments during their tenures at Wrigley, we expect John and Pat to build on the Company's tradition of delivering great quality products at the lowest possible cost," said Petrovich. "Their leadership and excellence in execution by the procurement and manufacturing teams will support the continued growth and expansion of our business."
Donagh Herlihy has expanded his role in the Wrigley Company assuming the position of Vice President - People, Learning & Development and Chief Information Officer. In his new position, Herlihy will be responsible for People Development, Talent Acquisition, Organizational Development, Corporate Security and Information Technology.
Herlihy came to Wrigley five years ago from Gillette, and has led efforts to develop and strengthen the Wrigley Company's information technology infrastructure and team. He has 20 years of experience in the automotive and consumer packaged goods industries and has held positions in industrial engineering, supply chain management and IT in Europe and the United States.
"Donagh is a proactive leader who has helped create an IT infrastructure and strategy that are not only handling today's business, but providing a solid foundation to support our long-term goals," stated Petrovich. "I am confident that he will successfully apply those same leadership skills in his expanded role."
