Scripps Names New Publisher in Abilene

CINCINNATI, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Kim Nussbaum, who has nearly 25 years experience in newspaper advertising sales and marketing, has been named president and publisher of the Abilene (Texas) Reporter-News, effective immediately.

Nussbaum, 42, vice president of sales and marketing at the Reporter-News, has been responsible for the newspaper's advertising sales department since 2004. She succeeds George H. Cogswell III, who was recently named president and publisher of the Ventura County (Calif.) Star.

The Reporter-News and the Star are both owned and operated by The E. W. Scripps Company .

Nussbaum joined the Reporter-News in 2004, coming to the newspaper from the Springfield News-Leader in Springfield, Mo., where she served two years as retail advertising manager. Prior to her time at the News-Leader, she served two years as advertising director for the Muskogee (Okla.) Daily Phoenix.

From 1983 to 2000 she worked in a number of capacities in the advertising department at the Times Record News in Wichita Falls, Texas, before being appointed retail advertising manager.

In Abilene, Nussbaum is president of the Junior League and a member of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce Business Council. She also serves on the Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau Sports Alliance Committee and is a 2005 graduate of Leadership Abilene.

She is a 2007 graduate of the Scripps Leadership Institute. About Scripps
