Rite Aid Nov. Same-Store Sales Up 5.1% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Retail drugstore chain operator Rite Aid Corp. (RAD) reported that its same-store sales for November rose by 5.1 percent year-over-year, with front-end same-store sales rising 0.7 percent. Monthly pharmacy same store sales, which included an approximate 232 basis points negative impact from new generic introductions, went up by 7.1 percent. Prescription count at comparable stores increased 4.2 percent over the prior-year period.

For the five-week period, total drugstore sales climbed 5.6 percent year-on-year to $2.57 billion from $2.43 billion. Prescription sales accounted for 69.7 percent of drugstore sales, and third party prescription sales represented 97.6 percent of pharmacy sales, according to the company.

Quarterly same-store sales grew by 5.4 percent over the year-ago period.
