HP Appoints Brian Humphries to Lead New Growth Markets Organization

HP (NYSE:HPQ) today appointed Brian Humphries to lead the company’s strategy for accelerating revenue opportunities in the world’s fastest growing economies.

Developing business internationally is one of the key elements of HP’s growth strategy outlined by HP president and chief executive officer Léo Apotheker on March 14.

As senior vice president of the newly created Growth Markets Organization, Humphries will lead a team responsible for creating specialized go-to-market strategies, technology solutions, and customer, partner and public sector relationships that meet the unique needs of rapidly developing markets.

The Growth Markets Organization will initially focus on expanding HP’s business in 60 countries across Africa, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, and Central and South America. The group will report to Shane Robison, executive vice president and chief strategy and technology officer at HP.

"Fast growing economies represent a significant long-term business opportunity for HP and an important component of our growth strategy,” said Apotheker. "Brian’s proven track record, excellent leadership skills and broad international experience will help us drive strong business results in these markets and fuel HP’s growth.”

Humphries most recently served as senior vice president of Strategy and Corporate Development at HP, overseeing strategic initiatives to improve efficiency and drive growth, including the planning and execution of all mergers and acquisitions, post-merger integration, corporate ventures and strategic intelligence.

Previously, Humphries served as vice president of Finance for HP Services and HP’s vice president of Investor Relations. During his 15-year career with HP, Compaq and Digital Equipment, Humphries has held a broad range of positions with multiple organizations on three continents.
