Guidewire Results Surpass Estimates, Guidance Weak; Stock Down 7%

(RTTNews) - Guidewire Software Inc (GWRE), a provider of software products for insurers, on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $11.9 million or $0.16 per share compared with $19.8 million or $0.28 per share last year.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $0.35 per share compared with $0.37 per share a year ago.

Revenues for the quarter were up at $125.9 million compared with $118.2 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.26 per share on revenues of $122.5 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

For the first quarter, the company expects adjusted earnings of $0.01 to $0.05 per share on revenues of $78.5 million to $82.5 million. Analysts expect earnings of $0.05 per share on revenues of $85.3 million.

For the full year 2016, the company expects adjusted earnings of $0.54 to $0.63 per share on revenues of $405 million to $415 million. Analysts expect earnings of $0.64 per share on revenues of $416.3 million.
